Carpet Weaving in America – A family

Bloomsburg Carpet was founded in 1976 by Raymond P. Habib along with twelve veteran employees dedicated to maintaining the craft of carpet weaving in the USA.

In 1984 Raymond’s son Tom Sr. joined the company and brought it to where it is today.  Now, thirty-seven years after his grandfather started the business, we are happy to announce that the family legacy continues to a third generation as Bloomsburg is joined by Raymond’s grandson, Thomas Habib, Jr.

Tom Jr., a graduate of Stone Hill College, Easton, MA studied sociology and International business.  He also wrote for the college newspaper and loved playing intramural sports.  After graduating he worked for 2 years with advertising giant Y & R as account manager on such household named accounts as Campbell’s Soup.

Tom Jr. is excited and feels that hte time is right to join the family business.  He explains, “I’ve grown up hearing about what Bloomsburg is all about and cannot wait to dig in and learn everything there is to know about manufacturing, the processes and especially to work with the people i have known throughout my life.”  Tom will begin his career in the N.Y. office where he will join the sales and marketing team.  He hopes to bring a fresh perspective to the marketing side of the business.

Everyone at Bloomsburg is thrilled to welcome him to the team that will continue to cultivate a commitment to manufacturing beautiful, quality, eco-friendly carpets right here in the USA.
